Target Audience:
Practitioners who want to learn and understand the holistic depth of traditional internal Wing Chun as a martial art and a lifestyle for long-term sustainability and wellness.
Adults from 18 years (recommended from 23 years).
Practitioners with a serious ambition to be educated as Wing Chun instructors within our school.
Non-target Audience:
This education is NOT for people who only want casual physical exercise.
This education is NOT for people who only want to judge or criticize what Wing Chun is.
Requirements and Expectations
Achieving proficiency in traditional Wing Chun requires deep self-discipline, a proactive commitment to Student-Driven Learning (SDL), and active group collaboration. Success in this art demands the ability to achieve objectives by letting go of preconceived notions—a distinct contrast to modern, fast-paced "factory" concepts focused solely on immediate results.
Core Prerequisites:
The DLMP Principles: Strong Discipline, Loyalty, Motivation, and Patience are essential to achieve lasting results.
Prior Experience: Background in self-leadership, discipline, or prior training from other martial arts or demanding fields is highly recommended.
Teamwork & Contribution: A strong commitment to being a collaborative team player who actively contributes to the group.
Academic Discipline: Dedication to studying Wing Chun theories, which includes:
Maintaining an individual home training routine of at least 30 minutes daily.
Participating in theoretical studies and discussions via our internal web forum. Note: The first term focuses on establishing this daily routine, which must be maintained to advance to the second term.
Operational & Environmental Requirements:
Attendance: Ability to maintain an attendance rate of over 90% and proactively communicate any absences.
Humility: A non-competitive mindset. Partner training requires humility to prevent frustration and foster mutual growth.
Acceptance: Understanding that a Wing Chun instructor is a teacher, not a personal trainer. Students must embrace the concept of "learning by teaching" and recognize that knowledge is not the same as functional skill.
Outdoor Environment: Acceptance of health and energy cultivation through outdoor training, even in sub-zero temperatures.
Winter Proficiency: Practical proficiency in managing outdoor attire (boots, gloves, hats, and coats) during the Swedish winter.
Digital Access: Reliable access to a computer or mobile device for online theory lessons and agreement to our Terms & Conditions document.
Safety:
WAIS accepts no liability for accidents occurring during training if students fail to comply with safety requirements. Mastery the control of movement and power is a core component of the Wing Chun system, essential for the safety of all training partners
WCAA-Sweden Pedagogy
WCAA-Sweden applies traditional Wing Chun pedagogy combined with Student-Driven Learning (SDL) and academic methods, distinguishing our academy from conventional schools. Students are expected to engage with and manage the following pillars of our system:
Digital Learning & Governance: Our learning tools comprise internal web applications and structured governance documents. This framework enables you to study theory and complete assignments within our online forums, complemented by mandatory weekly online theory workshops.
Social Collaborative Learning: The educational process relies heavily on collaboration within the team. Sihings (senior students) have specific Roles & Responsibilities (R&R) as trainers and mentors, while fellow students serve as active training partners both inside and outside the classroom.
Servant Leadership: Our leadership methodology is rooted in traditional Wing Chun, where the Sifu’s R&R is defined as that of a guiding leader.
Cognitive Programming: The learning process utilizes assimilation and accommodation. Through active self-leadership, students program the brain's instinctive X-system from the conscious C-system to develop natural, reflex-driven response patterns.
