Our Wing Chun Kuen 詠春拳 is taught directly from Grandmaster Ip Chun 葉準師父 in Hong Kong. We are proud to be one of the first Wing Chun academies in Sweden with such a direct lineage.
Grandmaster Ip Chun (born 1924) is the eldest son of the legendary Ip Man 葉問. Ip Man is internationally recognized as the teacher of Bruce Lee 李小龍 and has been featured in numerous films, most notably the Ip Man series, in which Grandmaster Ip Chun himself has made appearances.

Peter Yeung is the founder and Sifu of the Wing Chun Academy Association Sweden. His martial arts journey began in the 1980s, when he trained in various disciplines in Sweden, including Wing Chun. With a professional background as a strategist, inventor, and systems architect, Peter aims to develop something unique for individuals with a similar mindset. This pursuit requires a deep study of the roots of the Wing Chun system.
In Hong Kong
Peter Yeung began studying Grandmaster Ip Chun’s Wing Chun system with the goal of becoming a certified Wing Chun Sifu directly under Sifu Ip Chun in Hong Kong. He resided in Hong Kong from December 28, 2001, to March 2011 for intensive training. After this period, his focus shifted toward adapting and developing the Wing Chun system for instruction in Sweden. Hong Kong is considered a second home to Sifu Peter, as he also worked there for Ericsson during the 1990s.
Next Goal
Sifu’s next goal was to create a niche internal Wing Chun system focused on both effective self-defense and health. By applying traditional Wing Chun pedagogy, the system emphasizes efficiency against other martial arts, beginning with internal concepts based on the first form, Siu Nim Tao. His personal objective is to establish an academic approach to teaching, using theoretical models and architectural structures to help instructors master the system and further develop it. The academy aims to attract highly motivated students with strong ambitions.
The Combination
One of Sifu’s passions is information technology, specifically DevOps. He applies this expertise to the academy’s web applications to digitize and automate administrative processes. The goal is to provide a platform that enables students to eventually establish their own Wing Chun schools or associations using a shared infrastructure.
Why Internal?
Sifu did not originally have the typical athletic build associated with high-intensity external martial arts, yet his passion for martial arts remained strong. This led him to focus on the internal aspects of Wing Chun, which support both health and practical self-defense. As the body ages, internal martial arts help maintain functionality, making them a sustainable practice over time. Through this internal approach, Sifu aims to help others with similar goals practice advanced martial arts while maintaining long-term physical and mental well-being.
Wing Chun Academy Associations - Sweden (WCAA-Sweden) is the name of the style/linage that was founded in December 2005 by Peter Yeung. It serves as a Wing Chun Kung Fu (martial art) school operating at an academy level. The term "Academy" signifies that we provide academic-level pedagogical education in Wing Chun as an art form, rather than acting solely as a training provider. One of our primary goals is to provide higher education in Wing Chun and its practical application in real-world situations.
Our web services launched in August 2006. WCAA-Sweden is a non-profit academy with a business model categorized as "Hobbyverksamhet" (Hobby Activity) according to the Swedish Tax Authority (Skatteverket) SKV 344. Fees are used to cover costs for bringing original Wing Chun Kung Fu directly from Hong Kong (the Ip Chun lineage), as WCAA-Sweden does not receive subsidies from the Swedish government or other organizations.
As part of our hobby business concept, we manage our own Java software development and operations (DevOps). This includes the WCAA-Sweden mobile and web IT applications used for educational purposes and automated information processing. These tools facilitate distance learning of Wing Chun theory, team collaboration, and secure handling of private data in compliance with EU GDPR regulations (2016/679).
WCAA-Sweden acts as a supplier of Wing Chun services and educational frameworks to organizations and individuals under the WCAA brand. Financially, WCAA-Sweden is a separate entity and holds no legal responsibility for sub-organizations, as outlined in our agreement. This includes service offerings provided to members of the association Wing Chun Academy IF Stockholm (WAIS) and other affiliated academies.
WCAA-Sweden’s aim is to provide high-quality, in-depth Wing Chun education at an affordable price, enabling dedicated students to become instructors regardless of their budget. We prioritize small groups of highly motivated students, as our goal is the dissemination of deep Wing Chun knowledge rather than profit. Consequently, we limit student intake by maintaining high requirements for all candidates.
WCAA-Sweden is a non-profit hobby business guided by Evangelical Christian Values (ECV). As such, a portion of our revenue is donated to Christian organizations, such as the Salvation Army (Frälsningsarmén), to support their aid work. We also support the Nordic Chinese Christian Church (NCCC), including providing web application and IT hosting for NCCC Stockholm. Later this joints to the common IT platform & operation concept known as intrawebaster.com from year 2016
Wing Chun Academy If Stockholm (WAIS) was founded in August 2009 by Peter Yeung, Daniel Gomez, and Johan Andersson, registered under organization number: 802467-1870.
WAIS is the Wing Chun school in Stockholm that was officially registered as a non-profit organization (ideell förening), WAIS was also registered member of the Swedish Budo & Kaisports Federation (SB&K), which is part of the Swedish Sports Confederation (RF). WAIS’s objective was to serve as a student association forum for training and educational decisions using e-democracy, in cooperation with WCAA-Sweden. WAIS did not operate its own business and did not apply for financial contributions (bidrag). Member fees to SB&K were covered by WCAA-Sweden as part of its student service offering.
